December 13, 2015

Today I feel grateful that my foot feels good enough to be walking again. And I'm grateful that there is a nice safe place to walk when the weather is bad.

December 12, 2015

I spent part of the day with my beloved sister-in-law, best friend, kindred spirit. I love her so much.

December 11, 2015

I have a snug little house. In the past 15 years I've had many many wonderful times here. There have also been sad and scary times. But mostly wonderful. When I think of my house I think of Bob and Susan's engagement party. Holidays and parties spent with family and friends come to mind. We played cards on the porch with Mom a lot and it was her favorite thing to do. Molly took her first steps across my living room. Wonderful times.

December 10, 2015

Music. I'm so thankful for music and they way it's been woven into my family for my entire life. Sitting in the balcony while Grandma played the organ at Mass was a thrill for me as a tiny child. And the video that Susan sent me last night is priceless. I've saved it to watch when  my spirit needs to be uplifted.

December 9, 2015

It's a fairly warm day for December and the air smells really fresh. I got out of the car this morning and noticed these bare trees. I love trees, even bare ones with their intricate pattern of lacy branches. If I were an artist I'd paint them all day long.

December 8, 2015

I live in a country and work at a school that allow me to go to Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Bonuses:
1. Starting the day hearing 300 children singing (in Latin no less).
2. Sitting next to a wonderful young woman who is a former student and whose children now attend Queen's.
3. Looking up and seeing an adorable 4 year old boy in his father's arm singing along.
4. Hearing a baby squawk and then a tiny toddler voice saying, "Baby crying!"

December 7, 2015

I'm getting ready to cut back on work next year, but this has been a wonderful job. Some days may be difficult, but it's never boring. I've worked here for 30 years and shared joy and sorrow and every emotion in-between with some really wonderful people.
